In Florida the air conditioner works harder than anything else in the house, so sooner or later there’s a dead one to deal with. The HVAC company installs the new system and leaves the old condenser beside the slab. The window unit from the back bedroom gives out after one too many summers. The portable AC from the garage workshop stops blowing cold.

Extreme Junk Removal is a licensed and insured, family-owned hauler based in Palm Coast. For more than nine years we’ve been clearing old units out of yards, garages and condos from St. Augustine to Edgewater.

How it works

Three steps. That’s it.

  1. 1. Text a photo

Snap a few photos of what needs to go and text them to 386-627-4071.

  2. 2. Get your price

We look at the size and weight and text you back a price.

  3. 3. We haul it away

Our crew shows up and everything goes into our 15-yard dump trailer.

AC equipment we haul

  • Window air conditioners
  • Portable and through-the-wall units
  • Outdoor condensers and heat pumps that are already disconnected
  • Old air handlers and furnace cabinets after the HVAC swap
  • Mini-split heads and outdoor units once they’re off the wall
  • Dehumidifiers, box fans and old space heaters
  • Old ductwork and metal stands from the same job

Before we get there

We only haul. We don’t do HVAC, refrigerant or electrical work. That means:

  1. Central AC parts have to be disconnected by a licensed HVAC tech. Refrigerant work is their job, not ours.
  2. Window units need to be out of the window and set on the floor or the ground.
  3. Mini-splits need to be down from the wall and the lines capped by your installer.

If your installer didn’t haul off the old equipment, that’s where we come in. Leave it beside the pad, in the garage or at the curb.

Old metal garden bench and a rusted wheelbarrow ready for haul away, the kind of metal items that ride along with an old AC unit
Metal junk like this rides along with old AC units.

Pair it with other metal and garage junk

Old AC units are mostly metal, so they often go out with the other heavy stuff sitting around the side yard. Rusted grills, old bikes, a dead water heater and broken lawn equipment can all share the trailer. See scrap metal removal, water heater removal and lawn mower and yard equipment removal.

After a hurricane, a condenser that went underwater usually comes out with a pile of wet carpet and drywall. See hurricane debris removal.

Condo owners in Daytona Beach Shores and New Smyrna Beach can have a window unit or portable AC picked up as a single item pickup. For everything else we haul, see junk removal services or the home page.

Frequently asked questions

Do you remove the refrigerant?

No. We only haul. Your HVAC company should recover refrigerant and disconnect the old system before we pick it up.

My installer left the old condenser. Can you get it?

Yes. Once it’s disconnected and sitting on the ground, we’ll haul it away from beside the pad, the side yard or the curb.

Do you take window AC units?

Yes. Window, portable and through-the-wall units all go in the trailer. Just have them out of the window first.

How much is AC unit removal?

One unit starts at our $125 minimum. Several units, or an AC with other junk, are priced by how much of the trailer it all fills.

Can you take the old air handler from inside the house?

Yes, once your HVAC tech has disconnected it. Tell us if it’s in a closet, the garage or the attic when you text.
