Daytona Beach and Port Orange sit in the middle of our Volusia route, and the jobs we get there have a pattern. A garage that has not seen a car in years. A parent’s house after a move to assisted living. A rental turnover where the previous tenant left a shed full of tools and a dead spa on the lanai. If that sounds like your place, this guide walks through how local homeowners clear those spaces and how our crew fits into the plan.
Why Daytona and Port Orange garages fill up so fast
Beachside buildings near the Boardwalk and Main Street often have tight parking and limited storage. The garage or storage closet becomes the overflow for beach gear, holiday decorations and old furniture. Inland Port Orange neighborhoods around Spruce Creek, Pioneer Trail and the streets off Dunlawton Parkway have bigger garages, which means more room for the stuff that never quite made it out of the garage or to the curb.
Add a hurricane season or two, a kids’ sports phase and one unfinished remodel, and the car is in the driveway for good. Guests notice. So do buyers when it is time to list.
A simple order of operations for a garage cleanout
- Walk it once with a phone camera. Snap wide shots and close-ups of the biggest piles. Those photos are what we use to price the job, and they help you see what is actually in there.
- Pull out anything you are keeping. Tools you still use, important papers, kids’ keepsakes and anything headed to family should leave the garage before the crew arrives.
- Group the rest by size. Furniture and appliances take the most trailer space. Boxes and bags pack tighter. Knowing what you have makes the quote more accurate.
- Decide whether the shed or spa is part of this trip. A lot of Port Orange and Daytona yards have more than a garage problem. If the shed or hot tub is going too, say so when you text so we can plan the trailer.
When you are ready for help, our garage cleanout service covers the haul from Palm Coast down through Daytona Beach and Port Orange. Town details live on junk removal in Daytona Beach and junk removal in Port Orange.
Estate cleanouts are a different rhythm
An estate cleanout is not the same as a Saturday garage day. Families in Daytona Shores, the neighborhoods west of Nova Road and Port Orange’s older streets often need time to sort photos, paperwork and furniture that still has a home with a relative. The goal is not speed for its own sake. The goal is a clear plan so the house can go on the market or be turned over to a new owner without a leftover pile in the garage.
- Start with rooms that are already decided: garage, shed, spare bedroom full of boxes.
- Leave a labeled “family keeps” zone so nothing important leaves by mistake.
- Text photos of the rooms that are ready. You do not have to finish the whole house before the first visit.
More on how we handle those jobs is on our estate cleanout page.
Yard extras that often ride with a cleanout
Once the garage is open, a lot of homeowners finally deal with the backyard projects they have been walking past:
- Hot tub removal in Daytona Beach or hot tub removal in Port Orange when the spa has been dead for seasons.
- Shed removal in Daytona Beach or shed removal in Port Orange when the roof is leaking or the door will not close.
Hot tub removal typically starts from $450. Sheds and garage loads are priced by how much of our 15-yard dump trailer they fill.
How pricing works (no surprises)
We price from photos. Load tiers are:
- $125 minimum
- $225 quarter load
- $345 half load
- $595 full 15-yard trailer load
A typical single-car garage that is packed but not stacked to the ceiling often lands between a quarter and a half load. A two-car garage with furniture and appliances can fill more. Photos of the whole space, not just one corner, keep the quote honest.
Before the crew arrives
- Unlock the garage and any gates to the backyard.
- Move cars out of the driveway so the trailer can park close.
- Set aside the keep pile somewhere obvious, preferably outside the work area.
- If a shed has power, have an electrician disconnect it before a teardown visit.

Neighborhood notes from our Daytona and Port Orange stops
Beachside Daytona near the Boardwalk and the blocks around Main Street often means elevators, tight loading zones and condo rules about when a trailer can sit out front. Send the association rules with your photos if timing is limited. Further west, toward LPGA Boulevard and the neighborhoods off Clyde Morris, driveways are longer and sheds are more common behind the house.
Port Orange has its own split. Spruce Creek and the streets near the airport feel suburban and wide. Closer to the Intracoastal and the Dunlawton bridge, lots get tighter and access photos matter more. If you live in a gated section, include the gate process in the same text as the photos so we are not guessing at the curb.
Second homes and short-term rentals show up a lot in both towns. A neighbor or property manager can meet the crew. You get the price by text and a photo when the garage is empty.
What we haul from a garage (and what we skip)
Household junk, furniture, appliances, mattresses, boxes, gym equipment, old bikes, patio sets and the contents of a shed are everyday loads for us. Remodel debris from a small indoor project can ride along when it is already piled and free of hazardous materials.
We do not take sand, dirt, concrete slabs, in-ground pools, tile tear-outs, cabinets from a full kitchen demo or anything that needs a dumpster left on site. If you are unsure, ask when you send photos. It is better to sort that out before the trailer shows up.
A realistic timeline for an estate
Week one is usually sorting and family decisions, not hauling. Week two is often the garage, shed and obvious discard rooms. Week three can be furniture that nobody claimed. You do not have to clear the whole house in one visit. Many Daytona and Port Orange families book a first load for the garage and a second visit once the bedrooms are decided. That keeps the process calmer and avoids hauling something a relative still wanted.
